When los Dave are in town, if there is one thing we do well, it is hanging out with the kids. So we thought, ´hey, why not a field day?´
We brought a bad of yum-yums, I grabbed the microphone at the church and 30 minutes later the campo was full of the kids from my community. We played a varity of different games: shoe kick, homerun durby, farthest baseball toss, football toss - all the good ones. Here are just a few pics of the action but I thought I should pass them on!
Red Dog has some mad face time in El Chile, the kids were so pumped that he came back.
René here tossing the football. Kid has a great arm and quite the temper when it comes to loosing. Kind of reminds me of Dave Hannon anytime we play ping-pong.
So close yet so far away. It got real competitive.
I have lost out on a lot of cultural MTV moments since living in El Salvador. Here is a shot of Ando teaching us the ´Stanky Leg´. Amazing.
Then the greatest thing of all time. Can you guess it?
A Chubby Bunny contest!
The kids went nuts! Luckily there were mellows left over and Ando and I got to play a round.
How good is it to be in El Chile.
Stand on one leg contest - this got out of hand.
Field Day was a hit. How do I know? Most kids walked home with a prize, everyone got dirty, most kids laughed, three kids went home early because they got mad and two kids cried! There is nothing like being a kid, that is for sure! It sure is great that I have a job where every now and a again I can pretend that I am one of them.
I think I pretend that everytime I am with Los Dave, but then again, that is what friends are for.
